2011 Forecasts
Today’s weather will be sunny…perhaps with or without some clouds…and maybe some rain or maybe not…with a possibility or not of snow…predicting the weather can be tough never mind looking ahead to a full year of coming history…so why not start a month late?
Thus my Top Ten List for 2011…forecasting* the future with my Windex polished crystal ball or if you prefer crystal cube or other non-politically non-religiously aligned predictive shape of shiny glassy stuff…
10. There will be civil unrest in the Muslim world (ok this may seem easy as I have had a whole month to observe events in Tunisia and Egypt but really has there been a year this has not happened?) I will piggyback on this the forecast that the media will tell us Islam is peaceful at least a zillion times and some Muslims will set their hair on fire because somebody will mention that Muhammad was kind of silly…
9. The United States will be blamed for most of the world’s problems (I hear this one every day, why does nobody pick on China, Saudi Arabia or Iran…or how about Australia…they must do something wrong…they do like cricket and that is weird).
8. George W Bush will be castigated as a puppet master of the world’s problems while at the same time being called a moron after over two years of being out of office (I was told to mock this when I went to my clandestine world domination conspiracy meeting in the restroom at Wal-Mart, its my tricky way of hiding the truth….we do get our orders directly from George every Friday afternoon during prayers…really).
7. Barrack Obama will give a dull pointless speech about nothing which the mainstream media will name as historic and heroic (a safe bet as it happens all the time…for example in the State of the Union speech…does he think “state of the union” means labour union?)
6. The price of oil will go up…as will fuel at the gas pump. (Is this what President Obama means by redistribution of wealth?)
5. Sarah Palin will find the cure for cancer and will be attacked by the media for being an air head and putting medical workers out of business (ok its farfetched but some people actually think Barrack Obama is a genius and has been curing the US economy by growing the national debt by so much his children will never see the day it is paid off….can you say foreclosure? I knew you could…)
4. A movie will be made that portrays CEO’s and /or businesses and/or the military as evil and/or dumb. No movie will be made which intentionally portrays Hollywood actors/actresses as evil and/or dumb.
3. Baseball will be more boring than watching paint dry or corn grow (how can a nation that loves NASCAR and guns like baseball? Then again they like Oprah who is like baseball on valium).
2. Wal-Mart will be blamed for putting competing businesses out of business…when it is really their customers who vote with their money and put the competition out of business…actually it is the bad businesses themselves that force themselves out of business (Hint folks: if you don’t like Wal-Mart do not buy their products…and leave everybody else alone who does choose to buy their products…and as for the constant complaining about sweat shops I notice those arguments are frequently from people who really do not want to earn money by rolling up their own sleeves and working out a bit of sweat).
1. The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council will ban the original version of the 1985 Dire Straits song Money for Nothing (proving once again that the council gets its money for nothing and Canadian free speech is in dire straits…click here for the controversial lyrics).
Now I forecast infotainment from my collaborator, the Queen of Forecast, the Doctor of Dissection, the beautiful, the lovely and clever Maximus…
* Warning I claim neither to be a prophet nor son of a prophet so if I get any of this wrong you cannot stone me…

Hey LSus :D!
I like the way you started your article...it is looking good *rubbing my hands*.
Please, allow me to offer a comment upon the results of your crystal-ball scrying ;)...
10. LOL this one was a bit easy, indeed. LOL LOL LOL was Muhammed a bit silly? I didn't know that....LOL...*nodding*. Seriously now, I am one of those who is looking forward to seeing what the final result of these events will be. Will the Arab world finally be ready for change or is it giving room to radicalism?
9. Yeah, the world does seem to blame the US for everything, which is an utter absurd - this kind of rhetoric is old, futile and fruitless (they should change the record). Ah, you forgot to add one point here: some Americans will blame President Obama for everything as well...
8. ROFL....oh come on! People who say these things do it in order to conceal their lack of intellectuality. President Bush made mistakes, yes (and his biggest mistake was to trust his administration and advisors); but it is time to move on and focus on the issues now.
7. Aaaahhh, yes...and here I was thinking that you had changed LOL LOL. "Change we can believe in" does not apply to you, LS, when it comes to President Obama (you are no different than those who persecute President Bush until this very day). I actually enjoyed this year's State of the Union speech (last year's was a bit dull, I grant you that much) - it was a mission statement.
6. Oil market is so volatile. However, some green energies are becoming a problem as well (i.e. ethanol): instead of food to eat, humans are planting fuel for cars...and fueling civil unrest.
5. I prefer to refrain myself from commenting on that female.
4. LOL nooo, this won't happen because the movie industry actually needs business people to work on their investments and the military are the new business strategists...remember? What is your problem with actors and actresses now, LS?
3. LOL LOL LOL...nasty!
2. Who owns Wal-Mart?
1. ROFL....I love that song, man! Are Canadians going bonkers or something? They should get a grip. You are right "Canadian free speech is in dire straits"...definitely!
Oh my God..."the beautiful, the lovely and clever Maximus..." that is quite a compliment: thank you *bowing*! Now...what do you want? LOL LOL LOL...
LSus, this was one fun article: thank you so so much! You never cease to impress me :D!
Cheers
Hello Dear Maximus…
10. Indeed Muhammad was very silly, 12 wives…need I say more? Silly…silly…silly! AND the guy gets a magical night flight and goes to Jerusalem…silly…Hawaii is the place to go…though I think a lot of his followers of today would prefer Las Vegas…If Egypt and the other sillies turn to a pluralistic democracy that is not dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood the it could be good but if the devout Muhammad followers get in it could be a blood bath…now if they change the pyramids into a Disney theme park that could be good…
9. *Eating my California red orange…ok I’m ready now* I agree with you…with the exception of the enormous negatives Obama has contributed to the US and global economies and of course his dastardly plot on 9-11 ;)
8. LOL Bush’s biggest mistake was believing the German Intelligence service who fed the CIA info saying Iraq had weapons of mass destruction…silly Germans…Have you read Bush’s book?
7. LOL I do not blame Obama for everything…I actually think he is quite a nice person…I think he really cares…it is simply his left wing perceptions that are misguided as they inform his decisions particularly towards economics. I am not saying anything about his social policies…but his speeches are growing in dullness…he must be losing the Force for his Jedi mind tricks ;)
6. Great point on ethanol...I would say that was a Bush error. Of course higher oil prices is good for us…Alberta is just booming and now they are going to build a new pipeline from Alberta through BC to the Pacific Coast for supertankers…money money money….
5. “I prefer to refrain myself from commenting on that female.” ROFL you have to be joking…you know she is the rights equivalent of Obama! Her show Sarah Palin’s Alaska is the number one show ever on TLC! She will never be president as the media hates her but it is great seeing her rattle cages and changing the political discourse.
4. LOL Look, half the movies out there have as villains CEO’s, corporations or the military…they are constant targets….for example the movie Avatar…Hollywood is like watching a train wreck….
3. I saw Oprah for a few minutes….I could not escape so it was not my fault…it was horrid…worse than snail snot…
2. Wal-Mart is a publicly traded company…currently…checking…trading at $56.70 a stock…
1. It is one word that can be seen as derogatory towards gay people…one person in New Foundland complained about it so they have band it…however many people are upset about the censorship so it may be changed…The word “faggot” appears in the song which some take as being disparaging of gay people…however the original intent of the song is not meant in that way…in the 80’s when I was cruising gay bars picking up lesbian couples the song was popular…
LOL What do I want? Hey girl just whispering the truth…great idea for an article you had…glad you enjoyed the ride now I shall zap over to your place…
Looks like you are in a bad way on point 10. The Economist's correspondent was at the scene in Egypt and reported this:
"Everywhere the same scenarios unfolded, as peaceful marchers collided with ranks of riot police and ... eventually overcame them."
No signs of unrest there. Only peaceful marchers.
I also don't know why you are so skittish about being a prophet. Doesn't everyone in North America get stoned?
Hi Looney…
LOL Yes certainly no unrest there…I have some inside sources in Egypt and it is bad…real bad…hopefully the watered down Muslims will take over not the devout Quran following persons…
It is starting to be difficult to find safe reliable places to go on a nice vacation…good thing we are going to Hawaii in April…
LOL I don’t mind making a profit (You can find that in Second Skittish Chapter $9.99)…Hey I live in British Columbia the homeland of the word “stoned”…and I find it repugnant, horrid and toxic…I admit I would endorse a law that would stone the mass distributors…I forecast that will not happen…but hey I have run out of Windex for my crystal ball so I may be missing something…
We are praying for our missionaries etc across the Middle East…
I know many missionaries to the Middle East, but unfortunately must say nothing more than this on the subject. The prayers are very important.
Hello LSus :D!
PART I
"10. Indeed Muhammad was very silly, 12 wives…need I say more? (..) AND the guy gets a magical night flight and goes to Jerusalem…silly…(..)…If Egypt and the other sillies turn to a pluralistic democracy that is not dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood the it could be good but if the devout Muhammad followers get in it could be a blood bath…now if they change the pyramids into a Disney theme park that could be good…"
LOL LOL LOL one wife is already hard to handle, let alone 12...eh? I think you are just jealous that he had that ability LOL LOL *nodding*.
I agree with you on Jerusalem: however, he forgot to document that magical night flight to the Holy City (in the Q'uran). I think he didn't like his trip that much.
The Muslim Brotherhood didn't even win a seat, in the last elections: do you think they have any influence in the Egyptian society?
"9. *Eating my California red orange…ok I’m ready now* I agree with you…with the exception of the enormous negatives Obama has contributed to the US and global economies and of course his dastardly plot on 9-11 ;)"
LOL LOL LOL I like your sense of humour...
"8. LOL Bush’s biggest mistake was believing the German Intelligence service who fed the CIA info saying Iraq had weapons of mass destruction…silly Germans…Have you read Bush’s book?"
I haven't read it yet, but I intend to.
"7. LOL I do not blame Obama for everything…I actually think he is quite a nice person…I think he really cares…it is simply his left wing perceptions that are misguided as they inform his decisions particularly towards economics. I am not saying anything about his social policies…but his speeches are growing in dullness…he must be losing the Force for his Jedi mind tricks ;)"
ROFL...left wing perceptions? President Obama? LOL LOL LOL that was a good joke, man *nodding*.
His speech was not dull; however I must say that he is a proud American: American Universities the best in the world? Yes, they are one of the best; but certainly not the best.
"6. Great point on ethanol...I would say that was a Bush error. Of course higher oil prices is good for us…Alberta is just booming and now they are going to build a new pipeline from Alberta through BC to the Pacific Coast for supertankers…money money money…."
"money money money must be funny in a rich man's world"...know that song?
PART II
"5. “I prefer to refrain myself from commenting on that female.” ROFL you have to be joking…you know she is the rights equivalent of Obama! Her show Sarah Palin’s Alaska is the number one show ever on TLC! She will never be president as the media hates her but it is great seeing her rattle cages and changing the political discourse."
No, she is not the right's equivalent to President Obama, because she doesn't have a tenth of President Obama's intelligence, intellectuality, mental sophistication, information and culture. Now, if you are referring to her ability to draw crowds; then yes...she can be slightly compared to Pres. Obama.
I haven't watched her show and I don't think I ever will.
Ms Palin will never be President because she doesn't have what it takes to conquer all the electorate (only some of it). Even some Republicans are starting to be sick of her. I actually heard a former Republican strategist labelling her remarks as "stupid".
"4. LOL Look, half the movies out there have as villains CEO’s, corporations or the military…they are constant targets….for example the movie Avatar…Hollywood is like watching a train wreck…."
Avatar is boring...I began watching it and 5 minutes later I dropped it: those blue creatures are annoying.
"3. I saw Oprah for a few minutes….I could not escape so it was not my fault…it was horrid…worse than snail snot…"
LOL LOL I don't have the patience for it either.
"2. Wal-Mart is a publicly traded company…currently…checking…trading at $56.70 a stock…"
So there you have it...
"1. (...) in the 80’s when I was cruising gay bars picking up lesbian couples the song was popular…"
ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL you kill me!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL *stomach ache* LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL....
"LOL What do I want? Hey girl just whispering the truth…great idea for an article you had…glad you enjoyed the ride now I shall zap over to your place…"
LOL ok...I'll let it slide for now. Thank you *bowing*! We are getting better and better at this!
Cheers
Hey LS my friend, that's not prediction, that's statistics, lol. '9. The United States will be blamed for most of the world’s problems (I hear this one every day, why does nobody pick on China, Saudi Arabia or Iran…or how about Australia…they must do something wrong…they do like cricket and that is weird).'
Excellent list, I almost complaint not seeing anything Canadian, until the number 1, lol.
Let see how it will pan out from your list ...
Hope you are doing well.
Anna :)

Hi LS,
Your psychic abilities precede you. Haven't all those thing happen?
#4 There is a new film coming in April. "Atlas Shrugged Part 1"
#1 Didn't a Canadian cable station buy the Kennedys mini series? Not even America wants it. Why the Kennedys and not Dire Straits. Maybe that's why Dire Straits also wrote Brothers In Arms.
Btw, where is your big surprise?
Hi Anna!
Good to see you, LOL well I admit I am not one for predictions but they can be fun and can also be instructive at how poor we can be at predicating!
That is why I went for some clear and evidential truths…safe ground! LOL
Would you like to make some predictions?
Thanks for being a fan at Brilliance and Broken Sky!
Hello Lady X
LOL
“Your psychic abilities precede you. Haven't all those thing happen?”
- Well Max was the one that picked this topic and I thought I would take advantage of our late in the year start…almost as bad as astrology! “Today you will breathe air and drink water as there is strife in the Middle East” piece of cake…LOL
They are making a movie about Atlas Shrugged? It will have to be 20 parts! I read the book and…have it unabridged on CD! 42 CD’s! 52 ½ hours!
LOL The Kennedy’s…well we Canadians are always under the thumb of “royal” families that live in other countries…Personally I have never understood the whole Kennedy thing…however I have a 6 year old nephew that can do a good JFK accent…not bad for a Canadian eh?
My BIG surprise is right here:
